Stress Engineer

An opportunity to join a progressive aerospace engineering company with a 5-year strategic expansion plan. Looking for high calibre, experienced stress analysts / mechanical integrity engineers to work on gas turbine components and aero structures. As a stress engineer within this client you will provide analytical expertise and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) including linear and advanced non linear methods.

• £30 - £36ph

THE CANDIDATE

Stress Engineer

• Manual calculation for basic component sizing

• Static stress analysis, including steady and transient analysis

• 2d and 3d modelling of static and rotating components

• Linear and non-linear Finite Element Analysis

• Vibration assessment, including modal and forced response analysis

• Fatigue assessment, including LCF, HCF and creep

• Fracture mechanics analysis

• Effective communication and commercial awareness

• Provision of detailed reports

Experience with some if not all of the following

• Patran/Nastran

• ANSYS

• SC03

• Hypermesh

It would also be desirable that you possess a good degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and a strong experience in PATRAN, ANSYS, and /or SC03 with a proven track record of delivering effective engineering solutions within cost, time and quality constraints.

The ability to create concise stress reports and interface with customers would also be a benefit.

THE ROLE

Stress Engineer

You will be given opportunities to support a variety of projects across sites within the organisation, interfacing with our clients at various levels. You will be expected to take full ownership of the assigned tasks and to assist the group head in achieving the departmental objectives.
