I started at CG Consultants in February 2013 as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant and have developed my career since then, now holding the job title of Business Manager. I am responsible for bringing new and repeat business into the company, building strong business relationships with some of the UK’s most prominent engineering and manufacturing organisations. My job gives me the opportunity to travel and meet companies at the forefront of UK technology, learning about the ever evolving world of engineering, and working in partnership with companies to form a detailed recruitment plan to match their needs. CG Consultants is a great place to work, I get all the support I need, but am allowed to run my own desk with a high degree of autonomy.
Two of my main hobbies are football and golf. I play Sunday league football for a local team, and I am also a member at a local Club. I support Liverpool FC and I will openly cry my eyes out if we ever win the league.
I am the reigning CG Consultants table tennis world champion
I was appointed to Operations Director in the middle of 2017 having previously started at CG as a Recruiter 10 years ago and working my way up through the different levels of the organisation including Consultant, Team Leader, Recruitment Manager and General Manager. The purpose of my current role is to ensure the smooth operation of the company, its processes and procedures, the training of staff and to make sure CG are using the best tools and technologies in order to increase the efficiency of the business. I very much enjoy the challenge of spearheading the implementation of the many exciting strategic business plans we have over the coming months and years.
I’m a big Spurs fan and get to as many matches as I possibly can. I also enjoy travelling and spend much of my spare time around Europe (particularly Italy which I especially love).
I spend a lot of my spare time volunteering on an unpaid basis for a particular charity that is close to my heart, encouraging people with the hope of a brighter future ahead.
My role as Managing Director is to set the strategy, vision and direction of CG Consultants. I have been involved with Engineering and Manufacturing recruitment since 2000 and have a real passion for the industry. I have been responsible for setting up and supporting both the Operational and Sales divisions of our business and ensuring the continued growth and successful performance of the company. Having overseen financial growth of 200% since 2010, I look forward to pushing the business to new heights and breaking new records over the coming years.
It is safe to say no two days are the same here and my role is very varied. Whilst looking after the P&L and planning the strategy and direction of the company, I assist the Sales Director with planning, motivational activities and sales strategies, liaise with the Operations Director regarding new technologies, legal and employment law related issues and training and company processes, recruit for new staff for our business and look after some key clients. In addition to this we have just secured a new IT Support provider, are implementing a new IT infrastructure and have just launched a new website!
Outside of work I love playing football (badly), spending time with my family and have an interest in classic and fast cars.
I have been at CG since 2016 and it has been a roller coaster journey, but a roller coaster that just seems to keep going up. Previous to recruitment I was a Paralegal in an IP law firm in central London and it was just a job to me. Now I am here, I wish I had started 5 years ago!
I have progressed quickly at CG and this is obviously down to hard work, but also because CG has been integral in driving me forward. I started as a Recruiter, progressed to Consultant and I am now a Team Manager. I currently assist my team with day to day recruitment and am enjoying the process of helping people develop. I am looking forward to pushing them forward so that they can progress as we grow as a company.
I still have not lost the passion for helping candidates to find new jobs so I still get stuck in and talk to candidates regularly but my focus now is to assist my team and help them on their journey.
Outside of work I am an active and busy character and I enjoy a variety of sports including Football (LFC for life), Badminton and golf, playing off a handicap of 14. I enjoy listening to music and also reading, there is nothing like a good crime novel to pass the time.
I started at CG Consultants in March 2016. Since I’ve been here I’ve learned a lot from some great people. I have made lasting relationships with candidates, clients and colleagues.
I started as a Technical Recruiter and have been promoted through the ranks to Senior Technical Recruiter, Principal Recruiter and now Team Manager. The environment here is a competitive one, with a team that will help you along the way.
The main reasons I enjoy working for CG are that there is a clear progression path available to everybody, the atmosphere really is of a team spirit with everyone helping each other, and there a lot of perks such a quarterly lunch clubs (I loved going to The Ivy in London), weekly incentives, an annual awards event and over achievement weekends away (my favourite was Vilamoura last year to play golf and stay in a 5 star hotel).
My hobbies are golf which I play every weekend at the club I am member of.
A unique thing about me is I am actually the best table tennis player in the office, attending the World Corporate Games 2013 (and being knocked out the first round)
